Who We Are
Green Riders is a proudly South African, turnkey, green e-mobility solution dedicated to creating a significant social and environmental impact.
Our mission is two-fold:
- Create 50 000 jobs in the last-mile delivery industry over the next five years.
Our strategy is to recruit unemployed, underprivileged youths (both men and women) and train them, in the areas in which they live, to become professional delivery riders and place them in secure positions with our aggregator partners. Our partners are keen to revolutionize the industry from one which is 95% dominated by foreigners to one in which South Africans can make a remarkable impact. With the Green Riders Academy to train and support our youths, we have the unwavering commitment and strategic roadmap to turn this vision into an extraordinary reality. - Convert the last-mile delivery industry from costly ICE motorbikes to eco-friendly and cost-effective e-bikes and e-motorbikes.
E-bikes and e-motorbikes are significantly cheaper to operate, saving delivery riders thousands of Rands a year and, at scale, this will make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions in the last-mile delivery sector. This will also foster a greener economy by eliminating the carbon footprint associated with delivery vehicles.
OUR IMPACT TO DATE
Green Riders, based in Cape Town, South Africa, has made remarkable strides in the last-mile delivery industry, training previously unemployed youth (men and women) to become professional delivery riders through our training centres in Richwood/Dunoon, Langa, Gugulethu/Nyanga, Athlone, Fisantekraal and Mitchells Plain.
Green Riders has to date trained over 2 000 South African Youth to become professional delivery riders, with our team of highly-skilled training facilitators and coordinators at the Green Riders Training Academy.

RIDE4CHANGE: SOUTH AFRICA’S FIRST MASS E-MOBILITY AWARENESS MOVEMENT
Green Riders led a movement for change! On the 7th of November 2024, we united over 500 people from the private and public sectors, civil society, partners and sponsors, who are aligned with the Green Riders vision to create green jobs, decarbonize the last-mile delivery sector, and advocate for inclusive infrastructure that benefits the millions! The energy was electric, with the largest e-bike ride in South African history,from Langa to the Cape Town CBD.
Through Ride4Change, we are rallying individuals and organizations who are committed to sustainable growth, and spotlighting electric micro-mobility and green delivery solutions as the way forward. Ride4Change underscores Green Riders’ commitment to a sustainable future, where communities can thrive alongside the planet. OUR MACH 5 CARGO E-BIKE
In March 2025, Green Riders launched its Mach 5 e-bike, the latest upgrade of our popular delivery e-bike. This e-bike is custom-designed to withstand the harsh African terrain and has a 100kg cargo capacity. Each e-bike is equipped with a sophisticated, state-of-the-art Battery Management System (BMS) linked to 2 large battery packs, developed specifically for the African last-mile delivery market, with a range of 130km on a single charge. The Mach 5 version includes upgraded features such as puncture-resistant tyres, new rims and a more ergonomically designed frame as well as cosmetic enhancements such as brighter green rims.
Each e-bike is also fitted with advanced IoT tracking devices to ensure that we can constantly monitor data from each e-bike to ensure and prioritize Rider safety and support.
